Winter & Spring
While the northeast is known for being cold and snowy in the Winter and Spring seasons, Mainers have learned to make the best of it! From excellent ski resorts to some of the best snowmobiling EVER, there is plenty of outdoor fun to be had by all. For those of you who love to ride fast and hard in the wide-open outdoors, Central Maine is the place to be. There are unending miles of snowmobile trails that take you all over the area, up through northern Maine if you so choose. One can ride as long and far as you desire, all the while finding lunch spots and taverns along the trails.
If you are closer in line with a slower pace, there are endless miles of trails on which one can snowshoe or cross-country ski from dawn ‘til dusk. Make a day of it, then return to the cabin for dinner and hot chocolate or sit around the outdoor fire pit to warm up from the inside out. Sebec Lake is the destination for some of the best ice fishing in the area but there are plenty of lakes to choose from to set up your bob house and traps and make a weekend out of it. From Moosehead Lake in Greenville to Schoodic Lake in Brownville, there are ice fishing derbies galore. Come join us to make memories with your friends and family!
