Maine Sightseeing
For those less inclined to engage in more physical activities, Maine offers an abundance of festivals and sightseeing opportunities, from breath-taking views at the top of Cadillac Mountain to the picturesque shores of Castine. While there are too many state festivals to list, some of the more popular are The Whoopie Pie, Red Hot Dog, and numerous Strawberry festivals right here in beautiful Central Maine.
If moving at a much slower pace is what your vacation calls for, there are the architecturally historic, truly photogenic bridges all around Piscataquis County.
Many of these bridges, some more than 100 years old, are still in working order and boast different styles such as covered, truss, and stone arch to name a few.
Being a coastal state, Maine has a vibrant fishing, lobstering, and clamming industry with the freshest seafood you’ll ever eat. Stop in at any of the local seafood restaurants to give your tastebuds an education on how real seafood is caught, prepared, and enjoyed. Don’t forget to stop by the B-52 crash site on Elephant Mountain while you’re in the area!
There is something for everyone here…Maine has it all!
